The Art of Play

Every summer, the City of Chicago develops a theme for its summer activities and programs. For 2007, the season was launched with an exhibit of the playful and colorful work of French sculptor, Niki de Saint Phalle at the Garfield Conservatory. The exhibit was followed by organized game tournaments, historical exhibits related to games and game inventors, and hundreds of other interactive events surrounding the theme. The custom-designed alphabet was used to represent not only the fun of playing but also the idea that fun is for all people of all ages.
